Project Overview
Project SASAKT is designed as a Centre of Excellence for HIV-positive persons and Children Affected by AIDS (CABA). It responds to a reality where stigma, exclusion, interrupted education, health vulnerability, and economic insecurity often combine to block access to dignified livelihoods.
The project is not limited to vocational training. It is planned as an integrated ecosystem combining certified skills, psychosocial support, medical linkages, legal awareness, placement pathways, entrepreneurship support, and long-term monitoring.

The proposal identifies severe gaps in care enrolment, vocational access, workplace inclusion, and psychosocial support. Ganjam is highlighted as a priority district because it accounts for a major share of PLHIV and children living with HIV across the eight high-burden districts studied.
For many CABA youth, the challenge is not only health. It is school dropout, caregiving burden, inherited stigma, grief, food insecurity, and the absence of market-relevant skills within reach.

SASAKT is planned around two economy tracks that can create employment and self-employment pathways without making a person's health status the centre of their identity.

The digital economy track is especially relevant because it can support remote work, freelance income, portfolio-based opportunities, and privacy-respecting livelihoods.
Integrated Support Components
